A Flying Seed and A Bird Named Hiramon Spore Initiative, Berlin. 16th and 17th September 2023(8 hours performance)The Spore studio is transformed by a performative conversation with Yasmin Jahan Nupur , complementing her handwoven soft sculptures and engaging visitors with ” A Flying Seed and a Bird Named Hiramon ” – an intimate moment of storytelling that encourages the audience to relax, connect and immerse oneself in conversations about childhood, memories of forgotten places, rivers and emotions, communal experiences of home, migration and changing ecology. “Gangaburi Performance” “Nov 15–17, 20252 hrs” “Buriganga River, Dhaka, BangladeshBrihatta Art Foundation” A river heritage performance responding to the Buriganga River — once the lifeblood of Dhaka’s trade and craftsmanship — now under severe environmental pressure from pollution and urban expansion. The work pauses the relentless pace of city life to reflect honestly on the river’s declining state, often invoked for ritual purposes but rarely protected. Using charcoal and indigo, the artist writes a letter of truth to the river, acknowledging its reality and the collective negligence surrounding it.

“Unraveling Silence Solo Exhibition” Oct 10 – Nov 29, 2025 Bengal Shilpalay, Dhaka, Bangladesh A solo exhibition of soft sculptures and textile works rooted in Bangladesh’s material heritage — nakshi kantha quilts, jamdani weaving, and zari embroidery — reclaiming fabric long dismissed as craft into feminist, political art. The work draws on the colonial destruction of thriving weaving traditions by the British East India Company and the artist’s personal encounter with five unemployed Jamdani weavers who began working again through family support. Each thread holds memory of land, labor, migration, and womanhood, foregrounding what refuses to disappear.

Barbed wire becomes a psychological and emotional barrier — to reach across it is to risk vulnerability and face surveillance. A simple gesture of touch transforms into an act of resistance, insisting on intimacy and shared humanity despite systems of separation.
